Alexander Gard-Murray

I am the Director of the Greenhouse Institute, a think tank researching climate change policy. I was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Climate Solutions Lab and the Rhodes Center for International Economics and Finance at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University, and a College Fellow and Lecturer in the Department of Government at Harvard University.

I hold a DPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford, where I studied at Nuffield College. My doctoral work won the American Political Science Association’s 2021 Virginia Walsh award for the Best Dissertation in Science, Technology, and Environmental Politics completed in the last two years.

I have published peer-reviewed articles in Global Environmental Politics, Environmental Research & Social Science, Policy Sciences, Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, Complexity, PLoS One, and Current Opinion in Sustainability. I have been interviewed by the New York Times, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, the Hill, CBC, Stars and Stripes, Canary Media, Marketplace, and other outlets.
